At dawn in Dheeban, a town in eastern Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a sweeping raid that led to the arrest of multiple civilians, including children, according to local sources. Among those detained were Kazem Al-Ahmad Al-Ghathith and his two young sons, as well as members of the Al-Aytan family.
During the operation, Amir Jassem Fawzi Al-Aytan was reportedly wounded after SDF fighters opened fire on residential homes. Residents also accused the forces of looting more than $16,000 in cash and gold jewelry, in addition to confiscating weapons found in the homes.
The SDF has not publicly disclosed the reasons behind the arrests, raising concerns among local communities about the lack of transparency and due process in the region.
