On Monday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) activated the al-Salihiya crossing as a trade one with the Assad regime-controlled areas, as well as for civilians. The SDF called the traders who have trade registries and would like to use the crossing to visit the administration of the crossing in the 7km Center.
The crossing facilitates people’s movement between the SDF-controlled areas and those controlled by the Assad regime. The crossing is 7 kilometers away from the city center of Deir Ezzor.
The Assad regime’s 4th Division controls the crossing on the Assad regime side and imposes taxes on civilians in return for allowing them or their goods to cross.
