Over the recent days, people and families fled areas in the western Deir Ezzor countryside (west of the Euphrates) for the Syian Democratic Forces’ areas (SDF).
The people and families fled due to deteriorated security situation in the areas and spread of kidnappings, murders, poor services, and frequent harrassements by Iranian militias and Assad forces.
The people and families reached agreements with smugglers who use riverine crossings to transport them to the opposite bank of the Euphrates.
Assad forces and Iranian militias control the western Deir Ezzor countryside. Residents complain about the militias’ individual and military decisions.
