On Friday night, a quarrel occurred between members of the Military Security branch and two fighters of the National Defense (NDF) militia in the city of al-Bukamal, eastern Deir Ezzor.
At midnight, a shooting was heard near the al-Zubair Hospital in al-Bukamal, hence a Military Security patrol headed to the shooting scene to find two NDF fighters drunken and shooting at a target as a kind of duel. Given that, both sides exchanged fire; however the NDF militia commanders intervened to stop it.
Such incidents by militias’ fighters in Deir Ezzor are largely common, especially as the Assad regime does not account them, and that they respect no laws or traditions.
