Yesterday, a military police patrol arrested two members of the National Defense Militia at its checkpoint stationed at Al-Sukaria roundabout, west of the city of Al-Bukamal, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.

He mentioned that the arrest of the two men came on charges of smuggling tobacco from Iraq to DeirEzzor province in a car they were traveling in.

He added that the car’s load of tobacco was estimated at 15 million Syrian pounds.

The command of the National Defense Militia tried to release the two men after their detention but failed, and the two elements and tobacco are still in the hands of the military police.
