At dawn today, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a wide-scale campaign of raids and arrests in the town of Dhiban in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, with air support, according to local sources.
The campaign resulted in the raiding of several homes in the town, most notably the house of the Sabouh al-Ali al-Sarih family. Sources reported the killing of the young man Ghannam and his son Mamoun, with their bodies transferred to the al-Omar oil field, in addition to the arrest of the rest of the family members.
The forces also raided the home of Farhan al-Salem and arrested his son Hamza, known as “Abu Madin.”
In a related development, the home of Da’ar Jabr Atiya al-Khalaf (60 years old) was raided, and he was taken to an unknown location. Bloodstains were reportedly found on his bed, raising fears that he may have been executed. One of his sons was also arrested during the campaign.
According to the information received, the forces used explosive charges to break down house doors during the raids, causing fear and panic among residents.
The town of Dhiban periodically witnesses similar security campaigns accompanied by arrests and raids, amid ongoing tensions in the areas of the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
