The Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa has carried out a series of isolation and maintenance works in a number of agricultural sites, with the aim of improving water drainage and reducing bottlenecks affecting agricultural lands.

The works included removing the main drain in the Samra area, which is 600 metres long, and removing clay deposits that were about two metres high, which contributes to raising the efficiency of water drainage. The MD52 drain in Al-Khamisiyah area was also isolated, with a length of 200 metres, as part of efforts aimed at reducing the risks of water accumulation and improving its flow.

In the same context, the Directorate conducted maintenance work on irrigation gates in several locations, including the “Al-Nayrbak” outlet and the western 11″ Regulator west of Adnaniyah, where the damaged gates were replaced with new ones according to different measurements, ensuring more efficient water distribution.

The Water Resources Directorate confirmed the continued implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation works for irrigation networks, with the aim of ensuring that water reaches farmers and improving agricultural production, within the framework of supporting agricultural development in the area.
