The Health Directorate in Deir Ezzor continues to implement specialized practical training in the field of neonatal intensive care, as part of the ongoing preparations to open a new unit in the near future.
These trainings focus on raising the readiness of medical and nursing staff to deal with critical cases, in accordance with the latest approved medical standards and protocols, which contributes to improving the level of health care provided to newborns.
In the same context, the Directorate conducted an evaluation test for participants, with the aim of measuring the extent of benefit from theoretical lectures and practical applications, and ensuring the readiness of medical staff before starting work in the new unit.
The Health Directorate confirmed that the opening of the neonatal intensive care unit will constitute a qualitative shift in the health sector in the governorate, by strengthening child care services and reducing the need to transfer critical cases to other governorates, which will reduce the burdens on families and accelerate the provision of the necessary treatment.
