The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in Deir Ezzor Governorate, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, carried out an inspection campaign that included a number of shops providing Internet services within the city.
The campaign resulted in the seizure and confiscation of a number of satellite Internet devices “Starlink” that were being used in violation of applicable regulations and laws, without obtaining the necessary licenses.
The Authority stressed that these measures come within the framework of regulating the telecommunications sector, reducing chaos in the distribution of Internet services, and combating unlicensed distributors, in a way that ensures the protection of network security and the stability of services provided to citizens.
They pointed out that inspection and follow-up campaigns will continue during the coming period, calling on shop owners and service providers to adhere to the applicable regulations to avoid legal accountability.
