Communications and Internet services returned to Deir Ezzor Governorate today, after an interruption that lasted for more than 22 hours, as a result of an emergency network malfunction on the road linking the cities of Homs and Palmyra.
Maintenance workshops began their work since the morning hours to repair faults on the Deir Ezzor–Homs road, where communications teams worked to maintain the optical cable and gradually restore service to various areas of the governorate.
The concerned authorities confirmed that the technical teams were able to fix the defect and return the network to its normal state, while continuing follow-up to ensure the stability of the service and prevent the recurrence of the outage.
For its part, the Deir Ezzor Communications Branch announced the partial return of the MTN network, after operating a number of network stations, indicating the possibility of benefiting from the service by setting the phone settings to automatic network mode instead of the 2G option, until the service is fully restored.
