The General Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with Oxfam, inaugurated the water station for the Katat Albukamal (Al-Majawda) in the eastern countryside, in the presence of representatives from Deir Ezzor Governorate and the leadership of the Albukamal district, as part of a project aimed at improving drinking water services and enhancing the sustainability of water supply in the area.
The implemented works included installing pumping sets for raw and treated water, equipping mineral filtration filters with their accessories, installing electrical equipment, and implementing a solar energy system to ensure the station’s continued operation.
The project also included the implementation of construction and civil works, including the construction of rooms for mechanical and electrical equipment, a water storage tank, and rooms designated for station workers.
The project aims to improve the drinking water situation and secure a sustainable water source that benefits approximately 18,000 people in the Majawda area and surrounding villages.
