For the third day in a row, the crisis of flour shortages in private ovens continues in the areas of Tal Hamis, Tal Brak and Al-Ya’rubiyah in the Hasakah countryside, which has exacerbated the bread crisis and increased the suffering of the people in securing their daily needs.
The owners of a number of bakeries confirmed that the cessation of flour supplies forced some of them to close completely, while other bakeries were forced to reduce their production and shorten their working hours, in the absence of any official clarification regarding the reasons for the interruption or the date for resuming supplies.
This crisis comes despite the circulation of information about the presence of large quantities of wheat stored in marketing centers in Al-Hasakah Governorate, which raised questions among residents about the mechanism for managing and distributing the stock and ensuring that the flour reaches the ovens.
Groups of residents and local activists called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address the crisis, ensure that bakeries are supplied with flour on a regular basis, and establish a transparent mechanism to manage distribution in a way that prevents the recurrence of such crises and maintains the stable availability of bread.
