Several civilians were killed and wounded on Wednesday following airstrikes by the Russian aircraft on several areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
A D24 correspondent stated that ‘More than ten airstrikes were carried out against the city of Al-Bukamal, which were concentrated on the Basatin area, the Hizam Al-Akhdar, the Industrial area, the Masaken neighbourhood, the former building of the Baath Party and the Nuwayfitah street, which resulted in the destruction of many civilian-owned houses and commercial shops.’
He added that ‘the Russian aircraft also bombed the Daesh-held village of Ashayer and the Sayal town in eastern Deir Ezzor, killing five civilians in the village, including two women and three children, and killing two others in the town, who were killed as they were coming out of a mosque.
Moreover, ‘Shells that were launched from the Iraqi landed in the village of Al Hari in east of Deir Ezzzor, leading to the death of three civilians, including two women and the wounding of dozens of others.’
Daesh-held villages and towns in the eastern countryside are facing intense airstrikes and artillery shelling by the Russian aircraft and Assad’s forces.
