Deir Ezzor Governorate witnessed an official meeting the day before yesterday, bringing together Governor Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmad and a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf, during which the opening of a branch of the Hajj Directorate in Deir Ezzor was announced.
The meeting, held at the governorate headquarters, discussed the logistical and administrative arrangements necessary to open the office, which will serve as a central hub for providing Hajj services to residents of Deir Ezzor, Hasakah, and Raqqa. This step will ease the burden of traveling to other provinces to complete the procedures related to performing the pilgrimage.
This initiative comes as part of the Ministry of Awqaf’s plan to expand its services and reach all provinces, especially those that have suffered from a lack of services in recent years. The office is expected to begin operations in the near future, including accepting registration applications and providing guidance and instructions related to Hajj, in coordination with the General Administration of the Hajj and Umrah Directorate in Damascus.
The opening of the Hajj Directorate branch in Deir Ezzor represents a practical step toward developing government services. It is seen as an administrative achievement that contributes to reintegrating the eastern provinces into the state’s organizational structure and enhances citizens’ trust in official institutions.
