During the meeting, the families presented a number of demands, most notably revealing the fate of their children and working hard to release them, in addition to providing them with documented lists that include the names of the detainees, their whereabouts, and their legal and health conditions.
The detainees’ families also stressed the need to open detention centers to human rights organizations and independent media outlets, in a way that ensures transparency and clarifies the true conditions inside them, stressing the importance of coordinating with the Ministries of Justice and Interior to clarify the charges against the detainees in accordance with the approved legal frameworks.
For his part, the governor confirmed that this file is being followed up through official channels, and that all possible efforts are being made to communicate with the relevant authorities, stressing that the issue of detainees represents a humanitarian priority that requires the cooperation of all parties to reach solutions that guarantee their rights in accordance with the applicable laws.
