DeirEzzor24 network has learned from confidential sources about the defection of several members of the Fifth Corps, which is part of the First Russian Division, from the forward positions located 3 kilometers south of the Taym oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
According to the sources, the defection of these members came as a result of their fear of Daesh attacks, especially with the approaching winter season.
The wages of Fifth Corps members who are civilian volunteers in areas west of the Euphrates, both in the forward positions and within residential areas, amount to $100 US dollars. In contrast, the salaries of members in the Jazeera region adjacent to the SDF-controlled areas amount to $130 US dollars, given the higher risk in this area, despite the greater danger faced by those in the “Shamieh” desert from Daesh attacks.
