DeirEzzor24 exclusive report
The Sports Federation affiliated with the Assad regime announced its approval to hold Al-Fotuwa Football Club matches in the city of Deir Ezzor after an absence of years, according to a written statement.
The letter, which was published on the official page of Al-Fotuwa Club on Facebook, stated that “there is no security objection to approving the aforementioned request,” and the letter indicated that “the clubs need security escorts while moving on the Deir Ezzor-Tadmur highway.”
The letter justified the necessity of security escorts “to ensure the safety of the clubs from some violations that may be carried out by what it described as “terrorist groups” spread deep in the desert on both sides of the aforementioned road.”
Al-Fotuwa Club, which is managed by the commander of the National Defense Militia in Deir Ezzor, “Firas Al-Jaham,” was playing its matches on its virtual home ground in Damascus Governorate.
