On Tuesday, clashes injured five civilians and four Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters in the town of al-Hawayej in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
Demonstrations took place in al-Hawayej as demonstrators demanded the SDF reveals the perpetrators who assassinated Sheikh Muttashar al-Hafal and his companion on Sunday. SDF fighters intercepted the demonstrators who blocked major roads.
The injured civilians and fighters were transported to the hospital of ash-Shahil.
Unknown shooters assassinated Sheikh Muttashar al-Hafal and his companion, and injured Sheikh Ibraheem Aboud al-Hafal near the Kou’ al-Ragheeb in al-Hawayej.
