This morning, Assad’s forces launched a military and security campaign, the largest of its kind, in the seven villages under its control “east of the Euphrates,” according to a local reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network.
According to the reporter, the campaign included the participation of an entire battalion from the 17th Division of Assad’s forces and all security branches in Deir Ezzor.
According to a source for the DeirEzzor24 network, the real goal of the campaign is to search for people recruited by the coalition and the SDF to monitor targets that include Iranian militia sites and points in Deir Ezzor, in addition to searching for weapons with the aim of displacing the people, especially young people, from those areas so that they become completely military.
This campaign coincides with a military escalation between the coalition and Iranian militias in Deir Ezzor.
