The Defense Ministiry of the Assad regime released today a statement claiming that the International Coalition had carried out airstrikes between 5.30 pm and 5.50 targeting a headquarter belonging to Daesh in the Hatlah town in east of Deir Ezzor , where a large number of its foreign affiliates were meeting.
The statement also held that the airstrikes blew up a massive arms depot consisting of gas substances, resulting in a fire outbreak which lasted for hours and led to the death of hundreds of people, including Daesh and civilians, from suffocation.
A D24 correspondent operating in the eastern countryside confirmed that, ‘ The Hatlah town has not been struck by the Caolition recently, and that the statement released by the Assad regime is unreliable and ungrounded. No civilian casualties have been reported recently in the region.”
The official spokesperson of the ‘Azm Al-Salb’ military operation, which was launched by the anti-Daesh coalition, denied on his official Twitter account the targeting of any Daesh headquarter in the Hatlah town in recent days, adding that the statement released by the Assad regime has no credibility.
