Local sources revealed to Deir Ezzor 24 network that cells belonging to the Assad regime are active in different areas of the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside under the name of Daesh.
The sources said that these cells have threatened shopkeepers and merchants in Diban and Al-Tayanah towns east of Deir Ezzor to kill them or burn their properties unless they pay them with dollars.
The sources pointed out that these cells have been threatening people under the name of Daesh, where they identify themselves as being elements of the organization, but they actually belong to the Assad regime, and they are of great importance to the regime in the region.
These cells have carried out security operations throughout the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, confiscating goods and taking money from people at gunpoint.
The people call on the authorities to put an end to the actions of these cells, and work to arrest them to ensure stability in the region and prevent the Assad regime from interfering in eastern Deir Ezzor.
