The Fourth Division and Military Security set up a fixed joint checkpoint after the bridge of the village of Al-Suwayya separating the city of Al-Bukamal and the villages of the border strip east of Deir Ezzor, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent said that the checkpoint personnel apply thorough checks on passers-by, and impose royalties on commercial trucks coming to the Al-Qaim border crossing.
He added that the practices of the checkpoint personnel have angered the people in this area, due to the repeated harassment and arbitrary measures that lead to arrest.
Assad’s forces and its security branches have intensified their security practices in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, especially the north and east, in recent times, after rumors about an expected attack by the international coalition.
