For the first time, a joint patrol of the Assad regime’s Military Security and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) militia established a temporary checkpoint in the Assad regime-controlled areas western the 4th Division checkpoint on the al-Mari’iyah-Deir Ezzor highway.
The members at the checkpoint stop vehicles and motorcycles before they reach the military airbase, and ask women, men, civilians, and the military to hand over their phones. The members link the phones to a laptop in an Iranian white pick up vehicle to view contacts and photos. The members have not detained anyone yet until the news is published.
