Assad forces and Iranian-backed militias have deployed about 23 military checkpoints between the Baloum area in the city of Al-Mayadeen and the Al-Taym oil field on the outskirts of Deir Ezzor, according to a reporter of the DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter said that Assad forces are intensively protecting this road because it is used to transport its elements and elements of the Iranian-backed militias to avoid being targeted.
He added that the Iranian-backed militias are using this road to transport weapons, and the militias have also begun transporting Shiite visitors via the same road to provide greater protection for them from any targeting.
Assad forces and Iranian-backed militias have recently begun exploiting this road by allowing some buses carrying civilian passengers to use it in exchange for financial sums imposed on the transportation companies.
