The Public Drinking Water Establishment in Deir Ezzor began today the cleaning and sterilization of the main water station, taking advantage of power outages following the end of the peak summer consumption period.
The establishment explained that water pumping will be temporarily halted until cleaning operations are completed, noting that the primary sedimentation basins have not been cleaned for many years, which necessitated the initiation of these procedures to improve the station’s efficiency and water quality.
Current work includes implementing a regular cleaning and sterilization plan, in addition to studying the possibility of using activated carbon to improve water quality and enhance treatment.
The establishment expressed its gratitude to citizens for their understanding and patience during the implementation of these measures, affirming that the steps taken fall within efforts to improve water quality and ensure its safety for all neighborhoods in the city.
