The Al-Qaterji militia closed all its points in the villages and towns of Khasham, Marat, Mazloum, Hatla, and Al-Husseiniyah “east of the Euphrates” in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to what a local reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network reporter.
According to the reporter, Al-Qatirji militia dismissed all members of the “Village Guard” in the region, who number approximately 1,200 members, most of whom are over 40 years old.
These members were paid 150,000 Syrian pounds per month, on a weekly basis at the aforementioned points, without weapons or military uniform. This body was formed nearly two years ago to block the way to the formation of groups competing with Al-Qaterji in Deir Ezzor.
The reasons for the decision to separate and close these points are not known yet, with village guard members affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia remaining, and their numbers do not exceed 7 members in each village.
