In a remarkable humanitarian effort aimed at alleviating the suffering of the injured and amputees in Deir Ezzor, a young man named Abdullah Al-Kheiri, a specialist in prosthetics and orthotics, has opened a new center called Al-Fayhaa to serve as a beacon of hope and a provider of free services for the city’s residents.
Al-Kheiri told DeirEzzor24 Network that the idea of establishing the center came in response to the urgent needs of the region, as many amputees are forced to travel to Damascus or other cities to repair or obtain new prosthetic limbs, a heavy burden on patients and their families, both financially and physically.
He added that his center, a small workshop specializing in the manufacture and maintenance of prosthetic limbs, offers its services at symbolic prices, including free repairs and new prosthetics at half their actual cost, an attempt to ease the hardship of those in need amid the difficult economic conditions the area is experiencing.
Al-Kheiri also appealed to humanitarian and medical organizations to support people with disabilities and amputees in Deir Ezzor, noting that their numbers are increasing due to wars, landmines, and accidents , making assistance to this group a humanitarian and social priority.
Through this noble individual initiative, Abdullah Al-Kheiri proves that humanitarian work does not require vast resources as much as it requires sincere will ,and that hope can emerge from the heart of suffering when the goal is to serve humanity above all else.
