The organization Deirna Nexus held a training workshop as part of its “Active Voices” project in Deir Ezzor province, according to a report by DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent reported that the workshop saw active participation from the Sahem Association for Cooperation and Development, aiming to support community initiatives and build the capacities of local actors in the humanitarian field.
The multi-day workshop covered a range of key training topics, including humanitarian principles, protection standards, and methods for designing and implementing community initiatives, as well as practical sessions on how to build effective partnerships that serve the local community.
Throughout the training days, participants demonstrated notable commitment and positive engagement, reflected in rich discussions and practical applications that helped foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
In a statement to DeirEzzor24, Moayad Al-Ajjaj, one of the participants, said:
“The workshop was a real opportunity to practically understand the basics of humanitarian work. We learned how to develop an initiative idea from scratch and turn it into a concrete project that serves the community. Most importantly, the training boosted our confidence in our ability to bring about positive change — especially given the conditions we face in Deir ez-Zor.”
Al-Ajjaj also emphasized that such initiatives contribute to empowering local youth and strengthening their sense of initiative and collaboration, stressing the importance of continuing these trainings to build a more cohesive and responsive society.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the team announced its full readiness to begin implementing sustainable community initiatives aimed at meeting the essential needs of the local population, and supporting community development through effective partnerships and people-centered projects.
