The article’s picture is expressive
“Hamza Alwan”, a member of the National Defense Militia, was killed yesterday by “Ahmed al-Lahej”, cousin of “Firas al-Iraqiya”, commander of the National Defense Militia in Deir Ezzor.
The correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network said that “al-Lahij” was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, which prompted him to shoot “al-Alwan” and target him with several bullets, which led to his death.
Our correspondent added that “Al-Lahij” is the most prominent hashish and drug dealer in the city of Deir Ezzor, and carries out promotion and trade operations under the protection of “Firas Al-Iraqiya”, and he has commercial dealings with narcotic pills and hashish with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards militia.
He confirmed that after committing his crime, he resorted to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards militia, to work to protect him and prevent his arrest by the Criminal Security Branch.
It should be pointed out that that drug-related crimes have increased dramatically in the Assad regime-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor, due to the involvement of Iranian and proxy militias in promoting them among leaders, elements, and even civilians.
