A civilian aircraft carrying a delegation from the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority arrived at Deir Ezzor Airport this morning. The delegation was headed by the Assistant Head of the Authority, Mr. Abdul Bari Al-Saj, and included the Director of Engineering Affairs at the Authority, Dr. Ahmed Al-Saleh.
The delegation was received by the Governor of Deir Ezzor, Mr. Ghassan Al-Sayyed Ahmad, along with a number of officials from the governorate and technical staff working at the airport.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss the commencement of work on rehabilitating the airport’s infrastructure and preparing it to resume operations and receive civilian flights once again.
