A delegation from the “Basmat Amal” Charity Organization, a joint American–Turkish–Syrian NGO, headed by Executive Director Ms. Azza Badra, paid an official visit to Deir ez-Zor Governorate, accompanied by representatives from the Turkish “Zakat” Organization, to discuss ways to strengthen humanitarian cooperation and implement development and service projects in the governorate.
During the visit, Ms. Badra met with Mr. Ghassan al-Sayyid Ahmad, the Governor of Deir ez-Zor, and Ms. Salam Ghadeer, Director of Social Affairs and Labor, as well as several members of the Executive Office and officials from the “Deir al-Izz” Campaign.
The two sides discussed the projects that Basmat Amal plans to implement as part of the Deir Ezzor Campaign which include the rehabilitation of several schools in Deir Ezzor city and its countryside, in addition to sponsoring fifty orphans in the governorate for a full year.
During the visit, Ms. Badra announced the opening of a branch office of the organization in Deir Ezzor, which will serve as a center for overseeing humanitarian activities and supervising field projects. She affirmed that this step reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting the people of the governorate and easing the burdens on affected families.
