Residents of the Al-Ommal neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city complained about the continued burning of dirt and waste in a site located opposite the water institution and on the sidewalk of the destroyed school, next to the renovated Al-Hamidiyah School, instead of it being deported by the relevant authorities.
Residents explained that waste burning causes the emission of smoke and annoying odors, which prompts residents to close windows and doors, despite the high temperatures, stressing that the continuation of this phenomenon constitutes a source of inconvenience and concern for residents.
Residents warned of the potential effects of waste burning emissions on the health of children, the elderly and the sick, in addition to their contribution to air pollution and harm to the environment surrounding the neighborhood.
The residents of the neighborhood called on the concerned authorities to intervene urgently to address the problem, and prevent the burning and regular transportation of waste, in a way that ensures the cleanliness of the neighborhood, reduces sources of pollution, and protects the health of residents.
