Seven people, including two children, died and 25 others suffered burn injuries when a fire erupted yesterday in a number of tents in al-Hol camp in Al-Hasakeh countryside.

According to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent, the victims are from al-Quriyah city in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, and have been living in the camp for more than a year and a half. Some of the victims were known as Omar Awwad al-Abd al-Latif, Khalid Hamid al-Nahar, and Mohammed Ali al-Kiidhi in addition to two children.

Our correspondent said that the fire started from a kerosene heater that was in a tent where a wedding party was being held. The tent caught fire, then the fire spread to other tents.

The number of deaths is likely to increase, as some cases are still in critical conditions in intensive care units in the hospitals of al-Hasakeh city.
