Supply control patrols in Deir Ezzor Governorate were able to seize a large quantity of subsidized food flour amounting to two tons and 700 kilograms, which was prepared to be made use of illegally, as part of efforts to combat tampering with subsidized materials.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Khalil Al-Saleh, explained that the seized quantity was found inside the “Al-Jerzi” and ”Al-Saeed” mills in the Al-Jazeera area, after violations were detected related to the mechanism of some bakeries’ handling of food flour, in violation of the laws and regulations in force.
Al-Saleh pointed out that the directorate took immediate legal measures against the violators, including closing the two mills with red wax, and initiating legal prosecution against those involved, in addition to continuing investigations to determine the source of the violation and holding accountable all parties involved in tampering with subsidized food flour.
