A group of residents from the villages of Abu Shahri and Al-Qasabi, located west of Deir Ezzor, have launched a volunteer campaign to clean schools in preparation for the new academic year, according to a reporter from the Deir Ezzor 24 Network.
Our reporter stated that cleaning and washing activities are currently underway at the schools in the villages of Al-Qasabi and Abu Shahri (Al-Walaqaat) in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, with the goal of preparing them to receive students at the start of the school year.
Abdullah Al-Hamoud, a resident of Al-Qasabi village, confirmed that the campaign targets all schools in the area. The first phase has focused on cleaning and washing elementary schools, of which there are four.
He added that this initiative serves as a cornerstone for encouraging other residents of villages and towns in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor to launch similar campaigns aimed at rehabilitating schools and motivating their children to return to them.
Several privately-owned water tankers are participating in the campaign, in addition to young men from the villages of Abu Shahri and Al-Qasabi, who are contributing to the cleaning and washing of the schools.
