The father and his wife have been in Damascus since the alleged amnesty for terrorist crimes was issued, about a month ago, to follow up the release process, so that their son, who has been detained for nearly four years in Sednaya prison, may be in one of the groups of those released.
The parents of the detainee (we reserve his name) from the town of Ayyash, west of Deir Ezzor, chose to stay in Damascus, hoping that they might get a glimmer of hope about their detained son.
The parents spent their days traveling and waiting between Sednaya and the President’s Bridge, searching for their son among those who were released with the amnesty issued by the head of the Assad regime, “Bashar”, or at the very least, they heard news from those who left Sednaya about their son.
Their efforts did not bear any fruit, and their son remained in the unknown, and their request to the Terror Court to reveal the transfer of their son’s file did not succeed, so they turned the direction of the search to other prisons, and the response of those in charge was “Go, your son is not here… look for him elsewhere.” On the third of Ramadan, about a month before the pardon was issued, the mother was able to visit her son and see him in Sednaya prison.
Hope is alive, and the promises of brokers and crisis dealers, the parents of the detainee remain in Damascus, as are hundreds of fathers and mothers, waiting for the happy news that heralds the release of their son.
