An unknown group impersonating Daesh threatened the people of areas near Dhiban, Al-Busira and Al-Shaheil in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, as well as the villages of the northern Deir Ezzor countryside, to pay sums of money and royalties under the threat of death if they do not respond to their demands.
The group that is carrying out looting uses American numbers, taking advantage of the tensions and the state of chaos that resulted from the recent events in Ghweran prison and the killing of the commander of Daesh.
Recently, a state of security chaos prevailed after Daesh elements escaped from Ghweran prison, which led to clashes between them and SDF elements that tightened their security grip on the prison.
