A number of people of Al-Salhiyah town at the northern entrance of Deir Ezzor city have been defrauded by the town’s mayor in recent days, local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.
According to the sources, the town’s mayor collected identity cards of people from Al-Salhiyah under the pretext that he would distribute food baskets to them, but it turned out that the mayor had taken the identity cards and recorded their information to use it in the upcoming local administration elections.
The sources confirmed that the mayor was interrogated by a security branch for stealing 40 relief food baskets.
It is noteworthy that the mayor of Al-Salhiyah town uses blackmail against the people to achieve personal objectives.
