The Fourth Division increases the fees for the crossing of hay trucks in Deir Ezzor

The Fourth Division checkpoint, which is stationed near Al-Tala’i on the Western Line Road – Shamiya in Deir Ezzor, raised the fees imposed on passing hay cars to 400,000 SYP for a large truck, and 200,000 SYP for a small car.

These measures of the Fourth Division aim to blackmail the people and receive royalties under the guise of fees and taxes, as the hay trade is popular between the areas controlled by the SDF and Assad in Deir Ezzor, due to the difference in its price between the two sides.

Traders buy a kilo of hay for 500 Syrian pounds in the Assad regime-controlled areas, to be sold in the SDF areas for 1200 SYP, after smuggling it through the Euphrates River river barges.
