The Department of Animal Health and Production at the Directorate of Agriculture in Deir Ezzor began today distributing artificial insemination straws free of charge to veterinary technicians in the rural areas of the province. This initiative is part of a plan aimed at supporting livestock and improving local breeds.
The straws are distributed monthly based on accurate statistics of the number of cows in each area and are stored in special containers filled with liquid nitrogen gas to ensure the quality and safety of the semen until the time of use.
The Directorate of Agriculture confirmed that this initiative comes within the framework of promoting the use of modern technologies in artificial insemination procedures and enhancing livestock productivity. The Directorate also noted that the program will be implemented regularly in the coming months to support breeders and further develop the livestock sector in the province.
