The governor of Deir Ezzor issued a decision requiring the return of text messages related to citizens’ receipt of their heating oil allocations at gas stations.
The decision was welcomed by the citizens, as it prevents huge congestion at gas stations, and spending hours in queues, but it does not eliminate favoritism, bribery and the possibility of misappropriation of allocations by those in charge of the stations.
Deir Ezzor areas under the control of Assad’s forces suffer from very poor living conditions, in light of the high prices of all supplies such as fuel and foodstuffs, in addition to the scarcity of job opportunities.
