Deir Ezzor – The Directorate of Freight Transport in Deir Ezzor Governorate has announced the re-activation of the weighbridge designated for monitoring axle loads on the Damascus road, after it had been out of service for a period due to acts of vandalism.
The directorate clarified that restarting the weighbridge is part of ongoing efforts to regulate freight transport and control overloaded vehicles, which are among the main causes of road infrastructure damage and pose a threat to traffic safety.
Truck drivers and freight transport vehicle operators were urged to comply with the gross weight specified in their vehicle registration licenses, with the directorate emphasizing that the weighbridge will play a vital role in enhancing oversight and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations, thereby contributing to the safety of roads and their users.
