Today, Tuesday, the Forestry Officer of the Deir Ezzor Agriculture Directorate confiscated a car loaded with about a ton of coal coming from Damascus Governorate, on Al-Wadi Street in Deir Ezzor city, because the driver violated the regular transportation conditions and did not have the necessary legal license.

The concerned authorities explained that the quantity of coal was seized in preparation for putting it up for a public auction for the benefit of the public treasury, with the car being seized until the competent judicial decision is issued.

The forestry officer confirmed that transporting and trading in forestry products requires obtaining legal licenses, noting that violations may carry penalties of up to three years in prison and a fine of 150,000 Syrian pounds, in addition to compensation for damages.

These measures are part of the Forestry Department’s efforts to reduce abuses, protect forest wealth, and ensure the implementation of laws regulating the transport and trade of forest products.
