A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that a large number of members of the Iranian and Russian militias have not received their salaries this month due to ATM malfunctions.

The source said that many members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard militia (IRGC) and other Iranian and Russian militias have not yet received their salaries under the pretext that the ATM machines have stopped working.

The source added that some officers, policemen and employees exploited the malfunction to take bribes from members to allow them take their salaries from the bank.

The source said that some of those who took bribes included Captain Ibrahim, who, before Eid al-Fitr, took 2000 Syrian pounds from each member, and now is taking 4,000 SYP to allow the members receive their salary. A person named “Khalil”, an employee of the bank, is taking 2000 SYP from each member to allow them receive their salary. Ibrahim, a captain leading the police patrol responsible for organizing people in queues, takes money from members to allow them receive their salaries.

The salary of an IRGC member in al-Mayadeen and Deir Ezzor reached 75,000 – 80,000 SYP this month, in addition to a grant equivalent to the salary, while the salary of an IRGC member in Al-Bukamal reached 100,000 SYP in addition to a grant equivalent to the salary.
