According to corroborative sources, lice spread among students in Deir Ezzor schools in the part controlled by the Assad regime.
And hundreds of lice infestations among pupils were recorded during November and December of the year 2018.
One of Deir Ezzor education officers who requested to remain unnamed for security reasons told D24 network:
“The number of infections among students has increased during the last month of the last year, as the measures to combat the epidemic are insufficient, and as the people are still waiting the Red Crescent which promised to provide bags containing lice treatments.”
The lice epidemic is added to a number of contagious diseases which spread in the areas controlled by the Assad regime, such as Leishmania and diseases of the digestive system and others.
