The Director of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Deir Ezzor Governorate, Khalil Al-Saleh, stated that chicken prices have begun to witness a gradual decline, after the noticeable increase recorded in the markets during the month of Ramadan.
Al-Saleh explained that this decrease is due to several factors, most notably the advent of large groups of poultry farms to the markets, in addition to allowing the import of Turkish broilers (feathers), which contributed to increasing supply and achieving a kind of balance in prices.
He stressed that the directorate closely monitors invoices and buying and selling, with the aim of preventing any unjustified increases or obscene profits at the expense of citizens. He pointed out that supply patrols continue to monitor markets and shops.
Al-Saleh stressed the need for shop owners to clearly announce prices, to avoid any cases of exploitation, calling on citizens to report any violations through the complaint telephone numbers available around the clock.
He explained that the Directorate is taking the necessary legal measures against violators, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect consumer rights and control markets.
