The hospital in the Al-Shaddadi district in the southern countryside of Hasakah is facing the risk of stopping work, as a result of a severe fuel crisis that has caused almost complete paralysis in medical services, in addition to a intensive shortage of medical personnel and basic equipment.
Local sources reported that the fuel shortage led to the disruption of many vital departments within the hospital, leading to ambulances stopping work, hindering response to emergency cases and threatening the lives of patients.
The residents called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to secure fuel and basic equipment in a sustainable manner, warning of the worsening humanitarian situation in the region if the crisis continues.
This situation forces patients to bear additional burdens and real risks to obtain health care, whether by searching for limited alternatives or transporting emergency cases to the city of Hasakah through special and expensive means.
For their part, hospital workers confirmed that the administration has issued repeated distress calls to secure fuel and necessary medical supplies, but the response is still below the required level, which portends a greater deterioration in health services during the coming period.
