The Israeli-Iranian conflict is at its most intense, and Syria is the battlefield, but the warplanes, whether Israeli or unknown, that conduct airstrikes on military headquarters and warehouses, find it difficult to carry out these operations when they are among populated areas. And this is exactly what Iran has sought to achieve. The purchases of real estate at low prices and the seizure of the properties of the displaced, which are owned by people who cannot settle their situation with Assad, are nothing but attempts to plant the populated area with tools of open battle with warplanes and raids, which are increasing in frequency, indifferent to the fate of civilians, the only victims in such cases. There is no doubt that the Iranian presence in Syria was imposed by the circumstances accompanying the chaos that the Syrian regime created by resorting to violence and forcing others to take up arms in its face. Iran is not only concerned with military tasks and economic and political interests, as Russia does, but also seeks to establish itself in Syria on several levels.
It is trying to infiltrate Syrian societies by spreading Shiism and revolutionary values in Khomeini’s thought, “exporting the revolution”, and trying to change the identity of many places through Shi’ism and trying to make Shi’ism a normal thing, as the Shiite minority in Syria throughout its existence was limited and not linked to agendas before Iran resorted to exploiting it, especially during the Syrian revolution, to pour most of its work into Syria after it became entrenched in Iraq with its political and military decision.
The observer of the Iranian issue and its movements in Syria and Iraq realizes that Iran hastened to enter the line in extricating the Syrian regime from the quagmire of the fall in order to complete the Shiite crescent that it seeks to complete, by securing a corridor from Tehran to Beirut that passes from Tehran and Damascus.
In Syria, Iran focuses on the border city of Al-Bukamal and the expansion of Its influence through the militias that control large parts of the Syrian city of Al-Bukamal. A report by the British newspaper “The Observer” stated that “the 47th Brigade militia of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades backed by the Revolutionary Guards took control of large parts of the city of Al-Bukamal under the leadership of a hard-line Iranian military commander named Hajj Askar.
Al-Bukamal is under the fire of known and unknown warplanes:
Al-Bukamal is one of the important and main points of Iran from Iraq and Syria to Lebanon, and from here it is understood why Iran contributed to controlling the city in a race before everyone else after it was under the control of Daesh. The British report also indicated that the complete control of Am-Bukamal in various respects falls under one of of the “Shiite Crescent” projects from Iraq and Syria to Lebanon.
Iran has received and is receiving painful strikes by Israeli aircraft and by unidentified ones. The strikes focus on military bases, arms shipments, and warehouses that Iran strives to conceal. Iran is also reticent about the extent of the military and human damage in these strikes, especially since it relies in those areas on The militias affiliated with it are from Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon and others.
Al-Bukamal is the most important city for Iran, as it provides a source for the transfer of weapons as well as the smuggling of all kinds of drugs to and from Syria. Syria has become one of the focal points for this trade that generates a lot of money to finance its projects in a long-term strategic survival and attempt to impose Shiism and change the identity of cities like Al-Bukamal.
What about civilians?!
The worst of what is happening is Iran’s continuous attempts to move its headquarters and some warehouse points and weapons into the city between the homes of civilians in an attempt to force the warplanes to hesitate a lot before launching an attack on a point among civilians, but thus endangering civilians without taking the safety of their lives into consideration.
Al-Bukamal and its people are illegally controlled by Iran. Iran’s purchase of several estate belonging to civilians either opposed to Assad or unable to return to it have been documented under the control of Assad and Iran over the city.
It has turned into a safe haven for Iranian and Iraqi commanders who are wanted by the international coalition. Reports and media sources said that in the past months, huge arms shipments loaded with camouflage vehicles carrying vegetables were transported from Iraq to Syria, many of which were targeted for fear of turning Al-Bukamal into a dangerous weapon base and an outlet for Iranian weapons, especially Against the American presence east of the Euphrates.
Iran is trying to intensify efforts to achieve the point of contact and make maximum use of it, which is the most important between Tehran and Beirut, passing through Iraq and Syria
In addition to militarization, Iran is opening centers of an Iranian sectarian nature, studying Persian language and history and focusing on establishing Shiite rituals in a sea of Sunni society in the region, and trying to change the identity of the city, and the viewer of the city does not mistake the extent to which it is affected by Iranian control.
