Today, the SDF announced that 6 of its members were killed in a suicide drone attack that targeted the global coalition base in the Al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, at midnight last night.
The SDF said in a statement published this morning that 6 of its members were killed during a terrorist attack by a suicide drone coming from areas controlled by “Syrian regime mercenaries”, which targeted a training academy in Al-Omar field, east of Deir Ezzor.
The SDF added, “While we condemn this terrorist attack, we affirm our right to an appropriate military response to the source of the attack.”
Deir Ezzor network local reporters had monitored an explosion at the base of the Al-Omar oil field last night, the source of which was unknown.
The attack on the coalition base in Al-Omar field yesterday was similar to the attack on its base in Al-Tanf on the twenty-eighth of last month, with a suicide drone, which led to the death of 3 American personnel and the injury of 25.
