Deir Ezzor 24 network monitored the presence of the head of the State Security Intelligence Department in Syria, Major General Hossam Luqa in Deir Ezzor province, within days of the visit of the Fourth Division security officer, Ghassan Bilal
This coincided with the appointment of Brigadier General Abdul Karim Hamadeh, head of the State Security Branch in Deir Ezzor, as a general supervisor of the reconciliation committees headed by Abdullah al-Shalas to allow the people of the province to return from the areas controlled by the SDF to the areas controlled by al-Assad.
Luqa held a number of meetings with officers of the security committee, the party branch, and tribal and religious figures in the region, most notably the Sheikh of the Bakara tribe, Sheikh Nawaf al-Bashir, one of the most prominent components of the western countryside.
These events come in light of the intensification of the struggle for influence and the imposition of control over the centers of wealth in Deir Ezzor between the Russian and Iranian parties, and the rumored intention of the American side to hand over areas under its influence to the parties to the conflict.
